Present

Just anothuh wandom Wednesday

Say the title of this entry like you’re Elmer Fudd.

I took an inclement weather day today because the commute home yesterday afternoon was one big sheet of ice. Colbert? Not very good in that area. Diz? Not a very confident driver. So, I stood home. I hate winter, and I’m glad I didn’t have to shovel (much), but icy and freezing rain are enough to freak me out regardless.

Tomorrow I have a couple of meetings at work. One is an eSeminar that I registered for and I’m hoping it goes well, since I have no clue what they’re like. I’m also hoping I didn’t forget anything pressing that needs to be done, because then the whole “You’re a chickenshit and you took a weather day” thing is going to backfire.

Tomorrow night is Matchbox Twenty and Alanis Morissette at MSG. I’ve seen Alanis in concert twice and she’s amazing so I’m looking forward to hearing new songs off her upcoming album. I saw Rob Thomas on his solo tour and he was awesome, but I’ve wanted to see M20 for years and can’t wait to sing along to “Unwell”, which is somewhat of my anthem. Hell, if Alanis throws in “That I Would Be Good”, I’ll be a sobbing heap in the middle of NYC.

Suze Orman was on Oprah today. Oprah is giving away a .pdf copy of Suze’s latest book on her website until tomorrow evening. Ladies, grab your free stuff! I paid down a lot of credit card debt last year and this is the year I hope to pay off the last of it. I’m thinking I should open a savings account, seeing as I haven’t had one since I drained it to move several years ago and I need to start one of those eight-month emergency funds we all are supposed to have…

So, the strike is over! Hooray! I cannot wait until my shows come back. I am suffering from Scranton withdrawal. And alas, I will have to wait till the fall to see my Pie Maker boyfriend again. Still, I’m glad that the writers got some of what they asked for, but I’m sad that it took months for the studios to cave.

Did y’all see the Grammys? I’m so glad Daughtry was shut out. I also must admit that Kanye made me laugh, he made me cry, and he made me cheer when he told the Grammy producers to cut the music so he could finish. I mean, c’mon - you knew he was gonna talk about his mother. Give me a break with the music. Other highlights - TINA (although I hate Beyonce)!!! The Time, who make me giggle with their dancing. The presenting talents of Prince, Cyndi Lauper, and Cher. Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. But three and a half hours? For eight awards? Yeah, did I mention I’m glad the strike is over?

So ends another random blog vomit session. See you next time.

He just likes to messs with them. He’s always bitching about award shows but he still shows up! I feel for him. Death of a parent is pretty tramatic. They should have just let him babble.

It was too long. I love DVR! ; )

@jen - Yeah, most of it’s an act. But I can’t help it. I like him! And DVR = the greatest invention ever. (I exaggerate!)

@Emily - I blogged it just for you ;) Are they touring your way? Are you going?

Yes m’am, they’re touring my way. I get back from Cali on Monday, have Tuesday off and the show is Friday. My friend Lauren and I have been waiting for the show for forever!
