Well, here we are, in another year. A fresh slate.
I rang it in the way I usually do - surrounded by friends, snackies, Trivial Pursuit, the usual episodes of Friends, and booze. Wanting to get a quick start on the OneOhOne, I had Steve make me a Mai Tai after the ball dropped.
Woke up before 11 yesterday morning with no hangover, but a case of agida that extended well into the day. Not wanting to be all defeated and wasteful on the first day of the year, I spent much time looking at an LJ community dedicated to people’s organizers (yes, there really is one, and yes, I really like it) and jotting things in my own.
Then, I decided to go out and be fit. But not before taking my can of change to the local Coinstar kioske. I thought (well, I’ll just donate to charity). The charity wound up being an iTunes certificate, but I only had $6.21, which is really sad. Another of my 101 is to save all change for the next 2.75 years and then cash it in and buy something fun. I only hope it winds up being more than six bucks.
Wound up walking at the park for about half an hour. Came home, listened to one new album and watched one new movie. (Two more things on the list.) So, all in all, it was a productive day. No wonder I was asleep shortly after 10pm.
As you may be able to tell, the next fact on my list (why am I continuing with this list?) is that I tend to start off a new year really well as far as intent and dedication goes. It’s the middle and end of the year where I usually allow my plans to go to hell. I am hoping that the OneOhOne, and Red (my planner) help me not to stumble and fall where I usually do.
Before I end this one, I feel it’s appropriate for me to jot down this dream I had before my roommate’s alarm went off this morning. I had wound up in LA for the end of the Tori Amos tour (the one that, you know, ended in December). Isabel was the doll performing the opening set. The camera crew was told to scan the audience and point out anyone not wearing their Tori shirt. I didn’t have one, so I hid under a blanket. They found me, laughed, and offered me backstage passes and an itinerary.
We wound up waiting for Tori after 11pm. All I could think was, “Okay, so we meet, and I have to remember to get a picture this time (because apparently, dream me had already met her in New York?). Also, I have to be at work in the morning. If we get out of here by midnight, I will be home by seven or eight, Eastern. Shit.”
Even dreaming about meeting Tori Amos, I’m worried about making it to work on time?!
This reminds me - I should shut up and go get dressed. I have to leave in half an hour.
