TT#3: Of all the boys I’ve loved before…

I am using auto links for those of you who are taking part, but please feel free to comment anyway! Thirteen Fake or Celebrity Crushes I Had as a Kid/Teen
(This one is also going to count as 100 in 100 #4: “I have crushed on some weird ass celebrities/characters!)
1. Alfalfa from The Little Rascals.
In my defense, I think I was like, three. To give you an idea of my frame of reference, my heroes/role models at that age were Wonder Woman and… Miss Piggy. Come to think of it, maybe it’s not so shocking that I crushed on Alfalfa. He was just the first in a line of dorks I would grow to crush on throughout my life… 
2. Atreyu from The Neverending Story. Ah, he was so pretty. I loved him; he was so much better than that pansy, Bastian. The actor who played Atreyu, Noah Hathaway, once did a guest spot on an episode of Family Ties as Jennifer Keaton’s boyfriend. I was so excited. 
3. Alisdair Gillis from You Can’t Do That on Television. I swear, I do not remember watching Alanis Morissette on this show. I guess I was too busy being smitten by this guy. He left the show by the time I was seven, if that helps. Right around the time I outgrew the green slime… 
4. JD Roth from Fun House. Yeah, another random one. I can remember pretending my Ken dolls were JD and Barbie was dating him, though. Maybe it was the fact that he’s a fellow Jerseyan?Fun fact: JD Roth is the co-creator of The Biggest Loser. Go figure. 
5. Corey Haim. You all know there was one Corey for each type. I was always a Haim fan, which is why it is still so weird to see him today. Don’t get me wrong - he looks relatively healthy and happy now that he’s off the smack, but I couldn’t help but cringe every week watching The Two Coreys. One good thing? He has stopped gaping like a fish in his adulthood. Fish mouth or not, there will always be a softspot in my heart for Lucas. 
6. Kirk Cameron. My crush on Kirk Cameron is so embarrassing, because, um, have you seen the guy lately? His Way of the Master site is scary. It makes it hard to fondly reminisce about Mike Seaver’s brown leather jacket.Fun fact: I also had a small crush on Mike’s sidekick, Boner Stabone. Boner. Huh-huh. 
7-8-9. Donnie Walhberg, Jordan Knight, Joe McIntyre.New Kids on the Block. They were an enigma. They were my generation’s *NSync. They were… really bad live, as evidenced by my roommate’s concert videos from back in the day. I went through phases, and liked Joe longest, but these three were mine. Mine!
10-11. Luke Perry, Jason Priestley.Why pick between Brandon and Dylan? Unless your name was Brenda Walsh, it was okay to like both of them (just ask Kelly Taylor). The sideburns. The brooding. The cheekbones. There was an era where my bedroom walls were papered with NKOTB posters and 90210 pin-ups from BOP magazine. (I am still amused that Pam and Tommy named their kids Brandon and Dylan. Not after these two, my ass!) 
12. Andrew Shue. I had such a crush on Andrew as Billy Campbell on Melrose Place. Billy was a writer. Billy wasn’t the “hot” guy like Jake (who I was also crushing on, of course). Oh, Billy. You were so normal for a few seasons… And then, the show went crazy. I blame Heather Locklear. 
13. John Stamos.So embarrassed. I loved Uncle Jesse. I watched Full House. I put up with his bad cover versions of Beach Boy songs. I felt for his camaraderie with Michelle. And now, I feel dirty. Ew. Uncle Jesse.Pet Peeve: People who call Joey Gladstone “Uncle Joey”. He was not their uncle! It was “Uncle Jesse, and Joey”, dammit!

I didn’t blog for more than a month, and I just came back to the blogland again recently. Here are some changes that happened to me, happened in me….
My skin is darker now.

OMG, I could have written this TT myself! I had so forgotten about Alisdair! And I do remember Alanis, although she was never my favorite actor on that show.

It’s funny…I remember Alistair, but had completely forgotten about him - it’s probably been, what…like 20 years since I’ve seen that show.
Ha ha…a Corey for each type. I was always into Corey Feldman until he started dancing around like Michael Jackson. Ugh. :)
oh man. Atreyu?! i remember thinking he was wicked hot. I feel like a perv when I watch The Never Ending Story now ;-) that’s exactly how I feel about Alisdair Gillis too! :-) and the show. I don’t remember HER at all. i wonder where HE is now though! :-) I liked Joey and Jon. :-)
Okay, while I take a break from preparing for my Office premiere party (thanks for commenting!), I have to tell you that my boyfriend and I are dressing as Alfalfa and Darla for Halloween this year :)
I totally had crushes on Atreyu, Kirk CAmeron (whatever happened to him?!), Joey McIntyre, Luke Perry and Jason Priestley, too! :o)
Wait, I thought Joey was just a sort of honorary uncle. Did they really never call him Uncle Joey?
